A Pinot Noir from Winery Roth (Wiesenbronn, Frankonia), that impresses with delicate finesse and plenty of character.
In the glass, complex aromas of red berries unfold, accompanied by fine notes of tobacco and black pepper, with a hint of roasted nuts. On the palate, the fruit remains initially restrained, only to gradually gain depth. Smoky nuances intertwine with subtle saline undertones—an elegant lightness emerges, almost unexpectedly, yet entirely natural.
The wine flows effortlessly and rhythmically across the palate, carried by spicy and nutty accents: juniper, pecans, dark chocolate, pepper, and a delicate touch of citrus freshness. In the finish, this organically crafted Pinot Noir reveals its full power: dry, ripe, and persistent—with a vibrant salty spiciness reminiscent of Mediterranean coastal wines. And yet, it remains unmistakably Franconian, shaped by the organic philosophy of Gerhard and Nicole Roth, who have masterfully balanced elegance, depth, and natural authenticity.
