A seducer. Full stop
This sparkling wine owes its character to the calcareous soils of Alto Adige, interspersed with light clay layers, found at elevations of 400 to 500 meters above sea level. Only Pinot Grigio grapes from the highest vineyards are used – typically harvested earlier than those for still wines – resulting in a unique sensory profile. Top-quality base wines and extended aging on the lees further refine its elegance.
In the glass: a delicate straw yellow. On the nose: an inviting medley of white fruit, fresh citrus notes of lemon and green apple, hints of walnut and a touch of Mediterranean herbs – all carried by a lively, refined mousse. On the palate: elegant and complex, with a surprising fruit symphony dominated by grapefruit, kumquat, and passion fruit, once again accented by nutty undertones. Despite this aromatic interplay, the wine remains fresh, spicy, and mouth-filling – truly captivating.
Santa Margherita’s Pinot Grigio Metodo Classico is a wine that awakens the senses. It’s a sophisticated aperitif, yes – but it also pairs brilliantly with delicate Japanese cuisine or simply grilled fish.
